About Monica

Monica Miklas is a dynamic creative leader with credits as a creative director, producer, director, writer and performer.

She is the co-founder of the Los Angeles-based radical theatre collaboration Capital W, specializing in transformative immersive experiences for intimate audiences. Her theatrical work has been produced across Southern California and at the La Jolla Playhouse’s Without Walls Festival, DCPA’s Off Center, the Denver Film Festival, and the San Diego International Fringe Festival.

A producer by training, Monica spent her early career in independent theatre before earning an MBA/MFA in Cal State Long Beach’s unique Theatre Management program and moving into special event producing for Angeleno arts and culture institutions like Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and the Autry Museum. She raised millions of dollars as a fundraiser while highlighting organizational missions and pushing programmatic boundaries. In 2021, she joined RWS Global as a creative director, where she brought immersive design expertise to projects for clients including SeaWorld, Yas Island; MSC Cruises; the Medora Musical; Big Cedar Lodge; and Bass Pro Shops. Now helming her own studio, Monica marries the techniques of immersive design with a strong business sense to deliver projects oriented around the greater good.
